The advent of the six-event ACFT aims to better evaluate a soldier’s preparedness for the challenges of contemporary battlefields.

Focusing on combat physical fitness domains crucial for operational success, the ACFT introduces a new standard in assessing soldiers' physical capabilities within the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness System. Utilizing an age and gender-based scoring criteria, it is designed to enhance physical readiness, mitigate injuries, and foster a culture of fitness excellence within the Army.

The ACFT represents a significant leap towards aligning fitness with combat readiness goals for soldiers by:
